Looks like the next Sims game will be a medieval kingdom simulator:

The Sims Medieval

This might be the first Sims game that catches my interest.  A medieval setting could offer lots of interesting gameplay.

Sims 3 has an interesting neighborhood (PC and NPC) progression system that I'd love to see in other types of games.  I'll be there if it's what I'm expecting it to be.

My wife already wants it...so, I'll be picking it up either way. If it's any good maybe I'll play it too, still too early to tell at this point.

Hehe, that's good stuff. I never met with a girl, who liked computer games.

Closest thing I've heard to a Sims game being of interest to me, but I'd still have to give it a good test drive before any cash goes out. Even though the games theme might be better, EA's give you a few things with the game and sell you everything that should of come with it policy will still tarnish the experience.

Really?  You need more friends.

I joined a local board gamer group a while back, don't care about board games that much but I enjoy the company.

your wife is a gamer?  ...turning green with envy now

Ahh, yeap. She's a gamer. She plays the Sims and Dragon Age and she likes Borderlands and a couple of other games. She likes console games too. The nicest part is having a wife that understands my need to game. Just don't ever let gaming come in between quality time.

Sheesh, doesnt  she get it, games ARE quality time. Duh.

My sister and her boyfriend (long-term bf) play games all the time, and with me even, but that is not all they do. It sure helps that they both love it though.

I demand that this game have scantily clad wenches.

Yeah, this will be a really good "miserable life simulator".

Females will be treated like comoditys. 'Peseant' wont just be an insult to the working class anymore. Lords will have gout, poor them.

Sheep will be the primary entertaiment for the welsh (no wait, thats still true). Boys will be trained in the art of war (hitting things with sticks) from birth.

Girls will be lamented because they arn't useful tools like boys.

Half the 'sims' will die from the plague, the other half will have various illnesses, mostly sexualy transmited ones, and between people dieing of 'bad blood' (siph) or old age (25ish) the game HAS to be about a kindgom or it would be very short.

Not to mention the fact Ill just want to invade france all the time but the game wont let me... agh.

OH WHAT GLORIOUS FUN IT WILL BE!

You forgot that most the children won't make it past the first few years of life if that. Oh and most the mothers won't survive childbirth. Sign me up for this depressing game! heh

Seriously though I am all for some realism, but I still insist on fun in my games.

Sometimes I think talking on forums qualifies under that.

Oh well, I do it anyway.

As long as we can buy wenches with livestock it's all good. Hmm, so your Dad owns you and your sister? Does he need any sheep or cattle? I can make him a good offer. In fact, you two might as well start packing now..

lol you know it's funny, because I constantly tell my wife she's my property and that she's bought and paid for. I bought the engagement ring and at our wedding her father walked her down the isle and then "gave her away" to me. In reality that age old tradition of the father "giving away" the bride actually symbolizes a transfer of ownership from the father to the husband. Isn't that Awesome I love traditions...mwhahahaha.

P.S. just because I live in Florida don't go thinking you two will be getting any sun. Don't pack bathing suits, pack knee-pads.

LoL J/K

I always like throwing that one back at people who claim they want to defend a "traditional definition of marriage." They don't seem to realize just what the traditional definition actually is.

Yeah, me too . Also notice in the Real "Traditional" wedding vows, the man promises to Love, Honor, and Cherish, and the woman promises to Love, Honor, and Obey...hehe. I couldn't get my wife to go for that one, so I said "then I guess we're not having a Traditional wedding huh?"..lol.
