Looks like the next Sims game will be a medieval kingdom simulator:

The Sims Medieval

This might be the first Sims game that catches my interest.  A medieval setting could offer lots of interesting gameplay.

Is this going to increase or decrease female interest in the title?

Like you say, straigh away it actualy sounds - if they do it right - like I might be interested. Maybe.

Aslong as I can cross out the "The Sims" title and write "Im gonna go" and then underneath the title write "on your ass!".

Well, it's a step in the right direction for sure. Now if they include a good editor and such, this could really take off.

The normal Sims I played once in the first version for a few evenings. I borrowed it while a friend was away. Mostly I really didn't get it. I tried my best to make George happy. He hit on every woman he met. All hated him. George got more and more depressed. I decided I was not good at this sort of game. Then too, the weapons sucked. All I could find was some kind of bug spray.

Worth keeping an eye on.

Same here.  I never understood that craze with that game.  Then again, I never understood the Starcraft craze either.

Can't speak for other females, but I enjoy the Sims series in general, and this idea is rich in detail and options, sounds great to me.

That's the kind of Sims I was hoping for. Well, the style at least. Implementation would determine how "cool" it actually is.

And for the "wisemen", any game you don't like is a waste of time and the ones you like are "da best".

Now I'm waiting for the "EA is the devil blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah" people.

My wife already wants it...so, I'll be picking it up either way. If it's any good maybe I'll play it too, still too early to tell at this point.

I will only endorse this game if it is historically accurate.

I demand witch burnings and rape.

Ahh, yeap. She's a gamer. She plays the Sims and Dragon Age and she likes Borderlands and a couple of other games. She likes console games too. The nicest part is having a wife that understands my need to game. Just don't ever let gaming come in between quality time.
